Can't add premium channel without upgrading package?

With Weeds coming back on Monday, I decided to add Showtime to my account. But when I try to add it online, I get an error message that I need to upgrade my old Total Choice Plus plan to a current one in order to do so.

Specifically: "You have an older package that does not support the proramming/service you have selected."

Did DTV change its policy, or is there just something wrong with the site?

On another note, is my current setup (Total Choice Plus, DVR, and HD Access) the same as the new Plus HD DVR package (just for $2.01 more per month)?

you get a few more channels, and it bundles all three services (channels, hd, dvr) under one thing to get taxed for rather than three different ones (taxes vary by state).

Send an email to customer service telling them you want to add Showtime and keep your base package. They will do it for you. I had this done a few weeks ago.
