What is the least expensive route to receive Mobil HD on Direct TV?
Can I receive net on the same set up?
Thanks for you're help.

Mobile as in while you are moving, or mobile as in while stopped at RV parks, etc.?
Not sure there is a while moving option even in existence.
Cheapest for RV applications would be a standard 5-LNB slimline dish.
No, internet is not part of that. Probably cheapest for that is one of the phone systems 3G networks.

Mobil as in motion for RV.
Understand that Direct TV now cannot be received by Kingdome.
We tend to use more than 5 gig a month and are looking for an options for the net too.

Mobil is a gas station, mobile means able to move.

When I read the title of this thread, I thought I was going to be able to get gas out of my HDTV. Oh well.

With the narrow Ka band beam I wonder if in motion will be possible. I thought KVH was pretty much the premier satellite dome company and even they don't offer one that will receive the Ka band yet. You can watch the HD Ku stuff in motion but that is not a whole lot of channels.

If you want HD while parked with an RV, use a Slimline dish with this:

There is no in motion 5 LNB setup for the new HD but there is a new RV 5 LNB dish available. See here: http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm/Outdoor-and-RV-Accessories/Winegard-TRAVLER-DIRECTV-Slimline-Ka/Ku-MultiSatellite-TV-Antenna/skunum=37343
A cool $1900 and it's yours. :eek2:
Personally I go camping to get away from technology but I won't go there. ;)

Extremely unlikely. The required size of the reflector and the much increased requirement for aiming precision is going to make it unfeasable. A system that would actually work would require a huge dome and probably cost $100,000 or more for such a precise, stabilized tracking system, which would probably have to be thoroughly integrated into the vehicle.

We're getting a MH and will be on the road for months at a time.
Still not sure if I want a dish but am thinking many of the places we'll be will have no OTA as we currently enjoy.

No problem. Was just teasing you. :D I see lots of "full timers" and seasonal with dishes. If I was gone more then a couple weeks I'd need my satellite too. :biggthump
