View Full Version : Which Switch? Legacy DISH500 and Single DISH
I am going to be hooking up a DISH 500 (110 & 119) legacy with a single legacy dish (148 or 61.5) to be hooked to a legacy receiver. My question is ... which SWITCH do I need to combine all 3 satellites (dish500 and single) into one receiver? Also, do I need an even DIFFERENT SWITCH if I want to hook TWO receivers up to this setup? Thanks!
If you have two dual LNBFs on the DISH 500 you will need a SW-64. SW-64 means 6 inputs(3 dual LNBFs) to 4 outputs so you can run up to 4 receivers(tuners) off this switch. If you have a LEGACY TWIN on the DISH 500 you can use a SW_21 in a cascade. If your LEGACY receiver can do 34 tests in the switch test it should be able to do a cascade, for 2 receivers you would need 2 SW-21's.
So when you say cascade two SW21's, I assume you mean use a SW21 to merge the 110 and 119 satellite feeds together ... then add another SW21 down the line to merge the 148 (or 61.5) feed to the other two (110, 119). Is that correct? I DO have an extra SW21 lying around.

You CANNOT use the 2 SW21's like you're suggesting.

Eyedox, re-read boba's response. He gave 2 answers, 1 of which will be appropriate depending on which version of the Dish500 (http://ekb.dbstalk.com/82) you have.
