Office Word? Office Power Point? Office Visio? Just doesn't sound right. I didn't think there would be another Office release until at lest 2004, since Office XP is actually Office 2002, even though it was released in the middle of 2001.

I wish they would just go back to version #. Windows v9 (or whatever # is should be), Office v11, and that way there is no issue about release date (like Steve mentioned).

I still like my office 2000, and since I only use the basic programs (word, excel, powerpoint) then not sure when I will actually want to update.

I still like my Soto Office on Linux. OpenOffice which is very similar is fine too.

If/when in a few years you get a new PC, the OS will probably not run that version of office you have now, but you'll probably be forced to select a new office suite when you buy the new PC. :D

This next version of office will run on Windows 2000/XP and later only. Got Windows Me or earlier? You are SOL.

 Damn!
I absolutely love my Office XP, haven't used a new version since '97 first came out. I use most of the 8 office apps everyday for one reason or another. Except for FrontPage which is a joke compared to Dreamweaver and Access which I have never been able to motivate myself enough to learn.
