In my humble opinion, Babylon 5 is one of the finest science fiction series produced. So good, in fact, that I believe that the writers of Star Trek: Voyager and Enterprise should be strapped down and be forced to watch a series to see how a GOOD science fiction is written.

Babylon 5 is a damn good series, but it has a story that runs through it's five year run. Season one starts off slowly, but then things start going wild in the second season. The series goes back on the air on the Science Fiction channel on March 31st.

And, unlike TNN, the black bars are intentional.

Agreed. I already have the season 1 DVD and I'm waiting for season 2 to show up in the next few weeks.

Babylon 5 is a great Sci-Fi series. It does get off to an excruciatingly slow start. But it really gets going in the second and third season. The problem is that without watching the first season, you might get a little lost in the later shows.

The other BIG problem with the series was that JMS was forced to write three endings for the series (The best of which IMHO was the fourth season finale.) For those that don't know, Babylon 5 was nearly cancelled after the third season by the failing PTEN Network. This network was also responsible for Hercules and Xena among others. In the 4th season, the PTEN network announce that they were folding and things looked break for B5 to be picked up in syndication. But at the last minute TNT picked up the 5th and final season.

The series was originally slated to be a 5 year story arc.

See ya

And the book series never went very far. I read the Psychcorp and Centauri trilogies but never actually read the last "Technomange" trilogy.

Did they ever give DETAILS as to how Lenier and Lyta died.

That was the only thing that got me angry they left those pieces just hanging there.

Do you know if the SciFi channel is going to run the series in order from season 1 to 5? Also, how often they are going to show it?

Well they've always shown it in order before, so this time should not be any different.
