After several unsuccessful searches at www.google.com , I can't find the website(s) where you can type in your zip code, and get answers as to which sports teams you can receive via DBS/which channels you qualify for.

My sister wants to get D* in California, and I'm doing the dirty work, and want to know which RSN's she'll get.

Both D* & E*'s websites didn't offer this info. I did a search of this website and DBSForums.com too, and found nothing.

Can anyone help?

You use to be able to get this info from
http://customersupport.dishnetwork.com/customernetqual/nqCustomerLocalsCheck.jsp

Or

http://www.dishnetwork.com/search/address_broker/index.asp

It would show you which locals you qualified for plus which sports channels you would get, not sure if it still does that (I am having trouble with my net connection at the moment)

With DirecTV, you can get sports blackout information from here:

http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/see/SportsBlackout.jsp

or you can get info on sports programming in general here:

http://www.directvsports.com

If you want more RSN's you can always order the sports pack. Blackout restrictions will apply, of course.

You can also call 1-800-GET-SPORTS.

Thanks, guys...I appreciate the help.

Scott, your 'sites pretty much gave me the info I need...

What I'm also after is the website where you type in your zip code, and the page tells you which teams you qualify for.

For instance, when I typed in mine, this website (of which I'm looking for/can't remember the URL) told me I qualified for the Jacksonville Jaguars (duh), the Orlando Magic, and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

*That's* the website I'm really after...thanks for any additional help!

I can remember over the last few years, tuning into TBS to watch a Braves-Phillies game....only to find out that the game is blacked out "not available in your area" although my zipcode doesn't even {seem} to qualify for Philly locals. I'm in the FS NY and MSG/YES area.

Never tried this for any Sixers or Flyers games when they are on TV.

Anyone else in Central NJ notice this? I've been a D* sub since 2000 and have always meant to call a CSR and ask...but I'm not a Phillies or Braves fan...and I figure I'd get a normal cue card answer about sports blackouts.

JAYPB, its odd the Phillies do claim parts of Central NJ (in the New York DMA part of the state). There are people who live in the Comcast of Middlesex Co. lineup that get blacked out for Phillies games on a national channel (when CCSN has the rights), but then CCSN is not carried on their lineup. Its like being a DirecTV or Dish customer. They cannot watch the game.

Back in 1998 Comcast Of Central New Jersey had agreed on compensation with MSG and was two days away from adding Comcast Sportsnet to their lineup Middlesex County (South Brunswick East Brunswick Plainsbero, Cranberry, Monroe, Jamesburg, Helmeta Spotswood ad Roosevelt (Monmouth County) then the NBA hit them with a ceast and desist order. The NBA did not want the 76ers game to go into Middlesex County. Yet the NBA Lets the Knicks stay on MSG in Mercer County and lets Comcast show the Nets Games on YES in Mercer county seem like a double standard to me. Comcast has seems to have given up wanting to add the channel in Middlesex county. Theoretically Comcast could have added Comcast Sportsnet blacking out 76ers games to Middlesex County viewers providing them with Phillies and Flyers game but to the Comcast brass it was all or nothing.

The cable systems are free to carry WPSG 57 (UPN) without deletions if it can be pick up over-the-air and is Grade B. RCN offers Ch.57 in parts of Hunterdon and Somerset Co. Comcast Middesex Co. does carry Ch.57, although doesnt carry CCSN. It gets weirder, Comcast in Brick carries CCSN but not Ch.57. Brick is farther from Philly than Middlesex Co. Comcast Toms River carries both.

Brett,

Yup...that's me...Monroe Twp in Middlesex. Funny thing is, I never noticed it when I had Comcast. Ironically, the BIG thing that led me to D* was the fact that FoxSportsNY at the time was something like 19.00 a month EXTRA !!! Not sure what it is now, but when I found out that D* gave you MSG and FSNY in their TC Plus package (or whatever it was at the time) I jumped on it. And I'm not even a Mets/Yankee fan.

When I signed up with DirecTV and took the sports package, I got NBA and NHL games from the NY/NJ teams from MSG FSNY without deletions. But it was only with the sports pack. Otherwise no MSG or FSNY. With DISH on the other hand, I get MSG and FSNY with AT 100 but most pro grames are blacked out.

If I take League Pass, however, I am free to watch those teams without deletions either without needing RSN. But I dont get Sixers. Telemundo (WWSI here) carries a select number of NBA games. If I didnt have Telemundo, I would need League Pass otherwise for those few games.
