On Monday, Gilat Satellite Networks announced the resignations of Chairman and CEO Yoel Gat and President Amiram Levinberg, both co-founders of the Israeli-based satellite equipment manufacturer. Their departure will become effective after a meeting of the company's new board of directors expected to take place in April.
Gilat said the resignations are voluntary, and will allow for the appointment of a new chairman and president and CEO at the upcoming meeting. The company said it's expected that Shlomo Rodav will become chairman and Oren Most will be appointed the new president and CEO.
Rodav is owner and manager of numerous companies in the high-tech, infrastructure, environment, food and holdings areas. Most joins the company from Cellcom (Israel), the country's largest cellular phone company.
The resignations of Gat and Levinberg follow a large debt restructuring effort at Gilat. Gilat is best known for its VSAT equipment and its backing of the StarBand satellite broadband business.
