After the last rain my 103's are gone!. Not low, but gone. I have 0's for every transponder. It wasn't windy at all during the rain. All other signals are high 80's to mid 90's. I checked all connections from dish back and they were tight and not corroded. Could my bbc be gone? I have a H20-100. I ordered a new bbc to try that out before I get d* involved with a service call. Any other suggestions?

My first suggestion (and probably the first you would get from a CSR) would be to reset the receiver.

I have reset the H20 a couple times. Still no change. I am getting all other transponders good, SD channels as well as "original" HD channels like espn TNT, etc. are coming in.

If you are only missing SAT 103b, than yes it could be a bad BBC.

I'll second this. I thought my receiver had gone bad, called D*, and they sent me a new one. As I was installing it, I noticed one B-Band Converter was burning up compared to the other. So, I swiped one off of another reciever in my house and it was all better. D* then sent me a free pair of BBC's.

I'd really suspect it if your BBC is really hot to touch, at least based on my recent experience.

I've also had 3 WB8's go bad in the past year and a half. In that case you lose more than only 103 though

Although I'm alyays surpirsed how many channels still come in with a just "slightly toasted" WB8.

WOW!!! That is a surprise to me to hear you had 3 WB68's go bad. I think I have only seen one other report besides this one saying someone had a bad WB68. There must be something with your setup causing the problem or maybe where the WB68 is installed is causing the problem.

My thoughts exactly... You definitely don't see many reports of those things going bad...

Morgantown... Is your dish properly grounded? I'm wondering it static discharge is toasting your WB68s...

Ditto on the bad WBs.

I have yet to see one that has failed on its own.

When they do fail it's either been because:

Whoever put it in failed to use proper weather proofing

Failed to remove the 75 Ohm resisters from the metal caps they used in an attempt to properly weather proof it.

Lastly failed from being improperly grounded.
