View Full Version : Shows not recording
I have 2 HD-DVR's that are having issues with recordings.
1. Family Guy is set to record on ToonHD and it does. However, when I go to play it back it just gives me the option to either delete now or not delete. I cannot watch the recording at all. I have other recordings that are working just fine.
2. Recording Scooby Doo and Superfriends on Boom. Both programs are set to record just fine in the prioritize and are on the To Do list. However, they never record.
All timers worked for 1 week. Also, the system was installed on June 11th.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

With regards to issue 1, that is a sporadic issue and needs to be documented in the issues thread at the top of the page.
With regards to issue 2, check your recordings in your priortizer and be sure record repeats is selected. If that does not correct your problem, try a receiver reset.

1) Try performing a reboot of your system. I believe that has rectified this KOD (Keep or Delete) issue. You can also try removing the SL and recreating it.
2) Check out your History and let us know what it says about the episodes that are not recorded. Along with the status next to the episode, select the episode to get the full explanation as to what happened to it.
What you you mean by timers? Are you referring to the series lists?

Update
1. I deleted the series list for Family Guy and re-did it and it recorded as expected. However, now the problem has moved to another recording (10:00 news). I rebooted the box, unplug and plug it back in, and the recording disappeared!! I deleted the series list and will see what happens on tonights news.
2. When I looked in history, it said that "the program did not record because it was no longer available." I did a reset on that box too and both timers disappeared!! I recreated both series lists and one of them recorded last night. The other had already past. I will wait and see what happens tonight. I checked the other series lists on this DVR and none of them have been working for days. I deleted the remaining ones and recreated them as well.
Thanks for the help.

It could be that your SL's got corrupted. As for the recording that disappeared, after it finished recording Family Guy, did you change the channel before you reset the box? There is a known quirk on the R15 that a recording is not truely written to the box until the show is cleared out of the Live Buffer, which entails a channel change or after it is 90 minutes past the end of the show.

It recorded the show while I was not watching TV. I turned it on and it was already on a different channel. I hit play on the recording and it gave me the error. I turned off the DVR with the remote and unplugged it.
