Why does E* not carry FX HD

E* carries TNT, TBS, USA, Sci Fi, WGN and Disney Channel HD
why do they not carry FX Network HD

F/X is a Fox property and DISH Network is currently involved in a pissing match with Fox; possibly over Fox wanting DISH to carry Fox News in the lowest tiers.

Part of it was that Fox and DirecTV shared the same ownership (NewsCorp) uo until very recently, and DirecTV wanted to have exclusivity on as many HD channels as possible.

With DirecTV's sale to Liberty that may change, but we don't know if there are any exclusive deals to DirecTV with the Fox owned networks.

(SpeedTV is in the Same boat.)

Somebody told me that E* would have SpeedHD up and running before the summer ends. Time will tell???

I'd guess getting a contract to carry any new Fox channel will have to include adding Fox Business channel. Extortion seems to be the only way to get that turkey widely distributed.

I called Dish to add Showtime again for the start of a new season of Weeds. When I asked the CSR if there was anything new regarding SpeedTV he quickly said "there is no status change" in an annoyed tone. It sounded like a bunch of you guys have called with the same question :p

It was one of the 1st channels to launch when D* did their HD expansion last fall.
