Has anyone watched this yet? We've got the premier on the HR21 waiting. Trying to be like MXC I think, but if the hosts arent funny I dont see this working.

I watched it and the people in the competition falling off things and getting hit in the face made me laugh. I didn't pay attention to the announcers. I'll keep watching.

Cool. I was hoping that just the people getting smacked around was enough to hold this together.

We watched it and laughed at both the contestants and the announcers (2).

This is nothing more then a cheap rip-off what SpikeTV did with MXC.

I'll watch it again if I get the time but I don't think I will be adding a season pass for it.

We added a season pass for it, simply because none of our regular shows are going and we have plenty of space on the DVR.

Will we watch it again? Maybe. Maybe not.

It was OK. We enjoyed watching people fall on their faces. I couldn't tell a word the announcers said.

IT got boring as you moved on into the other stages of the competition. THe spin till you're dizzy and jump across the water thing was just OK. The final obstacle course was alright, but, lacking in the face plant activity.

MXC is fun because there's no "winner" or real "competition". There was a competition, obviously, but MXC just shows the wipeouts.

Wipeout actually had a "point", which made it lose a bunch of the appeal, for me. I didn't really want to watch a "game show", I just wanted to watch people wipeout! :)

Watched it. Laughed alot - but I think the show would get repetitive and lose its appeal soon.

I'm a sucker for this type of crap.

Is it in my top 50 shows? No.

Is it worth watching during the summer? Absolutely.

The bonuses are that it's a fun show I can watch with the kids and I'm a fan of both John Anderson and Skunk Boy.

We watched the first one, and have the second one "in the can", but alas can not create a series link for it due to the limit.

As said before, it is a rip-off of MXC on Spike, and a poor one at that. :(

I bet it makes more money than MXC on Spike. Viacom should have had to foresight to take it to their network (CBS). If it fizzles then there's nothing lost. There are no "rip-offs" in business. You either do it better and more successfully or you don't.

I watched the first episode last week. Can I get my 45 minutes back?

CBS could have passed on the show. With 3 nights of 'Big Bother' about to start and a couple of other 'summer' shows being fighting for a place on the mid-season schedule, CBS may have felt they did not have the room.

CBS could have passed on the show.

Who knows. Only time will tell if it's successful though.

Its better than the show after it.

Which of course could be argued is itself a rip-off of the original show "Takeshi's Castle". Spike just dubbed in American voices as the announcers but it wasn't their show either.

There were some interesting moments, but man, I don't see this show lasting that long. Even as a summer series ..

i can't believe that ariel has been the only person that made it over the ' inflatatable red thingys' { those that watch the show know what i mean } they should give her the thousand just for that .

Tonight it officially lost it's spot in my prioritizer.

I originally tuned in for the wipeouts. Unforunately, for me, the "game show" part of it gets in the way. My son really likes watching the people get knocked off their perches... but other than that... it just doesn't do it for us.

We may watch bits and pieces now and then if were in front of the TV and there's nothing else on, but I won't waste any more space on my DVR recording it.

When we had it on the other night, Mrs Sharkie looked at it and said "Why do they do the same thing every week?".

They did some slight modifications (like the 'toothbrush' on the spinner of death thing), but it's 'basically' the same thing every week.

And really, why call the show "wipeout" and then try to pass it off as a legitimate game show?

I think if they wanted to pass it off as a "real game show", they'd have been better off to do it in a different format. Run the show in a manner similar to "Ninja Warrior". In the first couple of episodes, show all the people trying to make it through stage 1. Heavy on the "wipeouts", of course.

Next few episodes, you show 'stage 2', etc, etc.

At the end of the season, you have a couple of episodes of people trying to make it through the final obstacle course.

With a different format, they could have put in alot more wipeouts but still had the "game show" feel that they are apparently looking for.

It's certainly not what anyone could call quality entertainment but DAMN! is it ever funny. I absolutely love the running commentary.

Love the show but don't care much for John Henson.

We've got a scheduled recording for it over here and the kids seem to like the wipeout part of it. I can live with the hosts, but the smack talk between the contestants ruins the show for me.

I enjoy it for a mindless laugh. Takes the mind off of work, for sure. And it is fun to watch with the kids.

We record the weekend reruns and keep them for a rainy day or a free hour in between shows. It's fun, irreverent and holds your attention, not to mention your funny bone.

If you're looking for deep and meaningful, go elsewhere. :p

I love watching this show with my 4 year old. We laugh harder together at this show than anything else we watch together. The fact that it is now in HD is a bonus. I think folks expect too much from a show like this. It's for fun. Nothing more, nothing less.

Plus, the Johns crack me up. And, lets not forget about Jill.

There is just something about those big red balls that I can't stop laughing at! The UK version (presented by Richard Hammond of Top Gear fame) was crap. Same course, but it just didn't do it for me.
