I need a stand alone receiver for my bedroom. I have the HR-20 in my main system and like it. No issues at all. We don't get HD locals in my market, so I want a receiver with an OTA tuner. I have seen a few online retailers still selling the
H-20. To those of you who have it, satisfied with the performance? I assume it will be supported for some time by D* ? I am also not familiar with the various iterations of the H-20, like the 100 and 600 version. One thing I prefer is coaxial digital out versus optical, my HR-20 has coaxial. I can do optical however if that is the only option with the H-20. I live close enough to the transmission towers in my town that I am getting great reception (almost no dropouts ever) with an inside antenna on the HR-20. Is the OTA tuner as good in the H-20? Same tuner? Thanks for your input on these questions.

we have two H20-600's, one H20-100, and one HR20-100. The OTA tuners in the -600's work very well. The OTA tuners in the -100's do not. They don't lock onto signal nearly as well. Some of our OTA channels on the -100's constantly have signal drops, pixilations, audio drops, etc. We have moved units around, switched BBC's, etc. to see if problems are in the cables, etc. Wherever the -100's are, they have OTA challenges. Hope our experience helps.

RDH416 is correct. The OTA tuner in the H20-600 is much better than the one in the H20-100 but the -600 runs very hot and has some problems with rebooting because of it.

Since you need OTA the H20's is your only option unless you would like to get another HR20 or HR21 w/ AM21.

The AM21, is that the slim, OTA tuner module that sits om top the H21?
Also, did they add a coaxial digital output to the H21, or still optical only? Thanks guys, you're helping me alot here.

There is no H21-600 and the H20-600 hasn't been produced in over a year, so I doubt you'll find a new one. Also there is no coax audio.
Yes, The AM21 is that "slim" OTA tuner for the HR 21.
