I am getting 3 receivers install on July 3. Two will be HD DVR receiver and one will be HD receiver
Will I need a phone line connected to each when the installation guy comes over
and install them?
With free standard installation, will they be able to go underneath the house and up from the floor to your tv? This way you won't have all those wires showing inside the house?
thanks
You dont need a phone line, but you need to be prepared not to get caller id/order pay-per view via the remote.

It really depends. Some techs dont like going under the house, but unless it puts them in danger, they're supposed to do it, for the most part.

they could but if its easier to go into the attic he probably would go there. also if the installer has to run lines for the hddvr that will become custom work.
no phone lines, no ppv ordering via remote, would have to call d*tv or go online to place order

so without a phone line, the guide will still get updated regularly?
and the hd dvr won't give me a message it can't make a call?

Correct on both counts. The Guide Data comes via satellite and has nothing to do with phone connection. And, unlike the Tivo-based DVRs, no nag messages.
