Not that I ever watch it, but I've always had NBA-TV HD since they turned it on. Now I get a message saying the "Free Preview is Over". Was this last 6 months a so-called free preview, or did Directv screw up again, as they've done before?

Also, while I have you all by the attentions, anybody here in the N.C. area? For some reason we now get Ch. 699 which is Sports South Ohio, the Cincinnati Reds RSN, which means whenever they're on in HD on ESPN or FOX or TBS, it gets blacked out so that I can watch it in glorious SD. What gives? Anyone else in the Braves/Orioles/Nationals territory now getting Ch. 699?

Yeah im not happy about losing NBA hD, but i still get NHL HD but i HATE hockey! im guessing they'll give it back to us when the 2008-09 nba season starts. knowing directv they'll probably make us pay extra to get this channel in HD. of course i already pay the $9.99 fee for HD access but they took it away anyway even though i had the NBA league pass this year. BTW the NBA HD channel was a free preview everybody had that ended on june 30,but i was of the understanding that if you had the nba league pass this past season or sports pack that we should still have the HD version of NBA HD tv.

NBA TV won't be missed here but I don't like getting HD channels taken from me!

That is precisely my point as well. I hate basketball (can't wait for the MLB Channel, though) but I hate having something I've been paying for taken away with no previous indication that it was a free "preview" only.

Don't forget my other question about Ch. 699. Why would I be getting Sports South Ohio in North Carolina? Which adds one more team to my blackout list on HD channels. Oh, and just to add another kick in the nuts, Sports South Ohio broadcasts in HD, but Directv transmits it here in SD.

You havent been paying for it... you were never receiving the sd version... the HD version only was a free preview for the entire year, and is yours to view along with the sd package if you subscribe to the package that makes the sd version available and you pay the HD access fee.... NBATV has not moved packages....

On a side note, the NBA is trying to get the NBA channel moved to a basic tier, like NHL and NFL......
