Saving very short recording to PC?

I have a very short (1 minute) recording on my HR20-700 that I want to save to my PC. Is there an easy way to do this? I can connect a PC to the IRD either via ethernet (through my Netgear router) or via USB or thumb drive and save the recording? My IRD is networked for D* on Demand, but I've never tried seeing if I can access the IRD from my PC.

Please advise.

"nope", but if you have a video capture/TV tuner card, you can "send" an SD feed from the DVR to it and record it.

Like VOS says, no. It doesn't matter how long the recording is. The only way to "transfer" anything from your DVR to your PC is to record it onto the PC using video capture hardware/software. Or copy to a DVD Recorder and move the files from the DVD to your PC.

because DVRs actually record the Satellite signal and decode it each time it plays?

If so, then yes, but also there is no way to get the digital program out of the DVR.
