DP301 with DP LNB

I added a DP301 not too long ago to my system and everything worked fine.  I more recently added a DP quad lnb to run 4 (2 and a PVR721) receivers and take advantage of DP features and have notived a few changed in the 301's operation.

1) When using interactive features such as weather on ch9500 there is an extended black screen before I get the loading screen.

2) the window in the channel guide that previews tv has the "retreiving program info" for an extended period before displaying tv.  If I watch tv for 30 minutes or more before using the guide again, the same problem arises.

I thought the DP LNB would speed up some of these issues, but it seems to be causing a longer wait for the "features" of this unit.  Any ideas out there?  I think I'm using software version 188.

Dish Pro LNBFs will do nothing for either of the problems you describe. Those problems are the result of too much data on the data streams the receiver must read, the cure is a PVR where the information is stored on the hard drive.

The DP LNBs really just cut the number of cables in half to your switch by sending the whole satellite down the cable instead of just half at a time. Other than how your system is wired the DP has no effect on the operation.

It just seemed like a coincidence that the weather was a lot slower to load after that. I guess the problem may be upstream. Besides I did just get my 721 and WOW it's a dream so far.
