Noob here, looking to hook up 20-22 H20's to a single dish(with an OTA). I can only find a multi-switch with 16 outputs. Is there one with more or can I use a diplexer after the multi-switch? I have a 5 LNB dish now.
If there is a diagram I could be pointed to that would be great. Thanks.

you can run 2 wb16s in parrallel.. use single power pass splitters to the inputs.. make sure the inputs are matched (they are marked on the switches)

What you would do is to split the SAT feeds [all four] and then run them to two WB616s.
Diplexing OTA would be a bit of a nightmare though as each output needs a BBC for the Ka-lo band which is in the same frequency band as OTA.

From zinwell official site:

But I agree 4 2 way splitters and 2 zinwell WB616's is the best solution

I'd bet Zinwell doesn't make splitters....

This is a photo of parallel WB68 multiswitchs.

I still like the Sonora HRPID1422 Power Inserter but not absolutely necessary if WB 616 powered multiswitches used.
I have tried 4 way splitters without problems as well.

Thanks for the responses.
2 more silly noobie questions though...........If I use two WB616's and don't need all 32 outputs, can I avoid the splitters in front and hook up the satellite to the first WB616, and run the second WB616 off the first one.
And what is the max distance from the satellite to the multi-switch. Looking at other posts, I saw 40 feet? Is that correct?

yes,
no,
:)
40' is for the SWM, but you can go longer with good RG6 between the SWM and/or WB616 and the dish

It seems running 2 switches in parallel is the preferred method, can someone explain what are the pros and cons as compared to running 4 lines from one wb68 into the input of another wb68. Also, what type of splitters are needed for the parallel option.

I don't think the WB68 are cascadable.
For running two WB68's in parallel, you need DUAL PORT power passing. For WB616's, you need SINGLE PORT power passing. Either one need to be high frequency splitters (2300+) and normal cableco splitters (5-950) won't work.

The Zinwell WB68's are not cascadeable, the WB616's are.
Since the OP is only looking for 20 outlets they could always cascade two WB616's.
Also, since the WB616's are powered multiswitches the second one be some distance from the first one. I had an installation where the first WB616 was 170' feet away from the second WB616.
Diplexers are nothing but trouble in HD installations, save yourself the headaches and run a second (independent) system for the OTA.

Doctor jWow, impressive setup. Is that a MDU install or your own home?

Enthusist's Home!
Setup always in flux.
Experimented in MFH-1. Fortunate to be in SWM-5 trial.
Now mostly MFH-2
Parallel setup now is 2 WB68 and 2 SWM-8 !
Only about 16 tuners active but constantly changing.
Thanks for the kind words

My 2 WB68s ran cascaded ever since my AT-9 was installed, until I got the SWM.

Thats the "it may work but is not reccomended".. the instructions do specificaly say NOT to cascade unpowered switches..
