July Intel CPU Price Cuts

Intel has just announced some targeted price cuts.

The Intel Wolfdale E8400 Core 2 Desktop chip at 3.0GHZ was cut 11% from $183 to $163.

The Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz got the largest cut, from $266 to $183 or 31%.

Other price cuts include the quad-core Q6600 (2.4GHz). It drops 14%, from $224 to $193.

The article about the price cuts was on CNET and I am sure represent wholesale costs, however the Wolfdale 8400 3.0GHZ chips has dropped below $180 at NewEgg and the 8500 is no under $200.
