I am going to do a clean re-install of XP on my computer. This may sound like a dum question, but where are all AOL IM and MSN IM addys stored? Are they on my computer or on AOL and Msn servers? Me and my daughter have alot of IM stuff stored somewhere and she would never forgive me if they disappeared. I do have a external hard drive to move all my files and such too. If they are on my computer how do I know where to find them after the install? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

AOL AIM service is on their servers, I'm not sure about Messenger (msn/xp) but I would guess it is the same.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to make a copy of your user settings folders since you have the means to. Do a disk cleanup first to wipe your temp folders, temp internet files, and recylcle bin. These contain all your users documents and bookmarks (favorites I guess ;) ) and some other items.
C:\Documents and Settings
is where all your user folders are. There's a hidden one in there (on mine anyway, default user) but I'm not sure there's anything in it you need.
