Blue Circle on HR21-100 not full

Any reason why the Blue Light on my HR21-100 is not a full circle. Only the light at the top of the circle appears. When I rewind or fast forward the lights move in a circular motion, but only the top light appears during normal play. I've seen this before but cannot remember what I did to adjust it and a reboot was not part of that process.

Perhaps try pushing the left and right arrow keys on the DVR at the same time? That would change the brightness of the LEDs and maybe wake them back up.

I tried what you suggested and it did not work.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with recordings I did not finish watching or the content within the "Movies Now and Showcases List". I watched a few seconds of one of the showcases, selected "Done", and now I have a full circle. Weird.

The performance of the DVR has been consistant, no missed recordings, only one Reboot on Monday because of very slow responses. The blue ring issue did come back but after looking at a few settings, it's now normal.
One of thoses things I guess.

I have the same problem with missing blue lights, but everything seems to work fine. Do these lights have any diagnostic meanings? I've searched the board but with the exception of dim to bright for a software upgrade, I haven't found anything. Just wondering. My other HR21-700 has no problems with missing lights.

A couple of the LED's on my HR21-200 were bad. When the full circle is on it looks like someone missing a few teeth.

Same problem here. Only the top light is on. I am afraid it is some sort of error code maybe about heat or something.

It may simply be broken:) I don't think it was designed to signify anything.

I don't think it's broken because it will light up when fast forwarding and when the receiver is first turned on. Though, you are probably right in that it doesn't signify anything.

This used to happen on my HR21 all the time (reset seemed to fix it temporarily). Never happened on my HR20...and hasn't happened again since 0x2AF.

I used to get this also when I would shut off the receiver it would go away. I dont think this is an error because with the latest software release it has gone away
