With it looking like the United States will be at war by the time Survivor would air tomorrow, will the polls for this week just be left off?? You know CBS and every other network will have it covered until it ends.
What does this do to the contest?

This poll will outwit outlast and survive. Other than that I'll just check back daily.

I've changed the official rules to account for this situation.
If Survivor gets preempted, we'll just put the contest on hold. I'll open this week's polls back up and they'll stay open until the next episode actually airs.
No worries... (about the contest anyway) :)

I asked yesterday, and as a result, the following has been added to Rule 9 of the contest:
Should current world events lead CBS to pull Survivor: Amazon from the current schedule for a limited period of time, the contest will be "put on hold" until such time as Survivor: Amazon resumes on CBS. The DBSTalk Survivor: Amazon Contest Coordinator shall be the sole judge of the definition of the term "limited".

When the Gulf War #1, started in 1991, fighting began at roughly 10pm EST. Which I believe is just before dawm (6am) Iraqi time.
AND technically, the "48 hour" deadline does not end until 8:00+ on Wednesday night.
So, there is a good chance Survivor will air as scheduled.

Mark, I sent you mail about this. I think keeping the polls locked is the best bet to insure fairness.

Mark, I agree with Danny R. Make your picks tonight for Ep#6 whenever it airs! Keep those polls locked after midnight tonight!

I agree. The polls won't reopen if we get preempted.

At this time, the CBS homepage does NOT have a pop-up window regarding tonight's programming. CBS is probably sweating it because of the live finals of Star Search.
Now watch it, war breaks out after 6 PM, having the east coasters watch Survivor, but putting us West coasters in the dark as to who gets the "evil" immunity idol and who has to paddle home.

Well, I got to saw through the beginning of the Jaburu "Dating Game" before losing Survivor to the break-in to report the airstrike on Baghdad.
Oh well...did the entire episode run on the east coast? Doesn't sound like those of us in the mountain or pacific time zones aren't going to get to see this one. I'm going to tune in to the CBS west coast feed here in an hour to see.
Maybe CBS will update the website with the results... :(

Yup, us East Coasters got it all.
I feel sorry for you folks who missed it. This show certainly showed a lot of information about various alliances in the works.

CBS ran the west coast feed, and re-ran the entire episode at 9 MST for those of us in the mountain time zone. So, I did get to see it all.
