My R15 has been slow as of late so I just did a Red Button Reset. Since when do we have to go through
the whole set up, dish type, zip code etc when resetting?
Is this normal?

No, not normal. Did you lose recordings?

I just checked, don't see anything missing. I did lose my Favorite Channels list(s).
It did speed things up alot, maybe faster then ever.

Doubt it. Probably needed to purge the memory, like a computer needs to be rebooted to fix an anomaly. If you need to reboot regularly that could be an emanate problem.

I have experienced this on my R15(s) in the past. Usually, some of the setup data has become corrupted for some reason. In my case, a pressing just one dash in the playlist deleted a show (instead of two presses) so I rebooted. Sure enough, I had to do the satellite setup & redo my favorites lists.

When the R15 is restarted, it checks things for their integrity. If there is a problem, the default settings are restored. Rarely do your recordings get deleted unless there is a problem with the hard drive.
