All,

I'm sure this has been discussed in the past, but I cannot seem to locate the thread(s).

I'm a new subscriber to DishNetwork and have a Dish PVR 508 connected to my home theatre.

My question about the remote is as follows:

I've got the remote set up to control my TV and my Home Theater receiver (Sony model). The home theatre control is activated on the remote by pressing "Aux".

My problem is that it is very frustrating to have to press the "Sat" button to control the PVR (ie. change channels/guide) and then press "Aux" button every time I want to change the volume on my Home theater surround system.

I was previously a Directv customer and had a Sony Directv receiver/remote that was set up where I could control the Directv receiver channels and also the home theater surround system volume levels without having to constantly change the device input (ie. it was left in Sat input mode).

My question is if there is a way to set up the remote where I can control the sound volume of my home theater without having to constantly do the switching of the input buttons (ie. have a similar set up to my Directv system).

Not directly that way, that I know of. I got around this by having the sound go first to the TV and then out to my system. My TV allows the volume out to be controlled by the TV volume. (Variable output) Thus changing the TV volume is changing the volume to the sound system. Perhaps not ideal to the purist but it works for me.

YES, There is a way. RTFM (its in the manual for remote)
Press the AUX button until all modes flash
Press the POUND(#) button
Press the plus(+) side of volume control
Press the 0 number button
Press the POUND(#) button. The AUX mode button will flash three times.

You are done. To change back to TV control use above intructions and use the TV button instead of AUX.
