This is the Dish discussion section, you might put this "poll" in the Directv discussion section for a little more response. Leaving it here is about like polling people at Burger King on their opinion of McDonald's Big Mac. If you plan to be a pollster for a living, don't quite your day job just yet.

Look, your only going to get people from the region they can receive it. No one else wants it because they cannot get it. Dish is well aware of approximately how many from that region might leave. Just like not providing locals to some regions. they know they are losing potential customers to Direct there. But overall for their entire business it is apparently better for Dish at this time.

A better pole would be to see if they do add YES and then raise prices again how many leave Dish.

I didn't switch, but I have an uncle ready to sign up for E* the minute he signs it.

He uses me as his in house technical support for all his electronic toys, and will not get D* as no one else in the family has it and he would be on his own to maintain it.

He's got Comcast cable right now, but will be jumping to E* the minute he knows his beloved Yankees will be shown.

I'm not switching over YES, baseball doesn't interest me much.

Maybe one big YES poll would be good...

1) Switched from E* to D* over YES
2) Got D* over E* for the first time because it carries YES
3) I don't get the NY DMA and if E* got YES and upped my fee even $2 because of YES, I would leave
4) I get the NY DMA and if E* got YES and upped my locals by $2 I would leave
5) I don't get the NY DMA and if E* got YES and didn't change my fee, I wouldn't care
6) I get the NY DMA and if E* got YES, I would pay $2 for it.

Anything I'm missing?

YES just doesn't cater to the NY DMA, but the whole state, and parts of PA, NJ and maybe CT.

So, we adjust NY DMA to NY Metro Area....

A poll would b neat though. Send a message one way or the other to Dish.
