Well I finally purchased a 721 after much debate. I was scaried off by all the bad pub but the new patch seemed to fix most the stuff so I ordered the dang thing and got it today. Mr. Installer man installled it and when he left, it was workin perfectly. I was very happy that all was going to be well in my world.

Well my wife and I had to leave to do some things so I turned the unit off and left, with a timer set for a program that would come on while we were out.

We get back turn the 721 on and it tells me the smart card was not inserted right? AHHHHHH. So we pull the smart card out and put it back in. Machine boots and now I stare at a blank screen.

Any ideas.

Is the green LED on the front of the 721 on? If it is (or even if it isn't) press and hold the power button on the front of the 721 for about 6 seconds. This will cause the 721 to reboot and hopefully will restore things. The re-boot process takes about 5-10 minutes and you should not press any buttons on the 721 or remote while it is re-booting.
