ABC News just announced that a transport helecopter with 16 US Marines has crashed. It has been announced that there are indeed casulties because of this crash, no word on how many.

This is sad news.

I take a moment to say a prayer for those lost and those who are busy fighting for freedom.

We owe those soldiers and all others like them the freedoms we take for granted.

I pray for the repose of their souls and that God may grant peace to their families.

Remember to thank a soldier if you run into one and say a prayer for the families.

Reports say it was a mechanical failure.
Being that it happened in a coalition zone...
I hope it's true.
How ironic............

I saw a national guardsman at the Times Square subway station today and I said thanks. Even though I don't agree with this war, hey, at least they're doing their duty to the country.

I read a news report on yahoo where they had issues with some part being cracked using this same type of aircraft before and I think it said that they had failed before.

I look at it two ways, for and against the war, there are good and bad things for and against it. It dont matter when the war would have happened or what it would be about, there are always going to be oppositions. People have their right to be for or against the war, but we also have to realize that this is how we got our freedom in the first place, and if we would not have fought for our freedom we would never be as we are today, and sometimes you have to fight for freedom more to keep it.

Thoughts go out to the families.

I think the US as a society learned our lesson from Vietnam where 18-19 year olds were coming home from (most drafted no less) and they were spit on and called baby-killer. I saw an interview with a veteran who met a girl at a bar, they went back to her place and started going at it, when she found out he had just gotten home from Vietnam, she kicked him out of bed.

At least things have changed for the better that way.
