I had thought that they were setting up small dishes for these video phones they use because I thought I heard that comment once but then I saw it used on one of the aircraft carriers last night. Satellite dishes on moving objects don't come cheap or easy.

What equipment are they using on the ground, and what satellite service is it?

The live shot from the 7th cavalry advancing north through the desert is truly impressive.

I would imagine they are using something like the satellite phone pictured below with an external camera attached. They are quite portable and run about $2200. They come in a very sturdy carry case which is not shown.

I traced down what CNN uses to this.

There's 2 more models there too, but this one shows a picture.

Fox is using "Motion Media's mm225 boards in a proprietary package." (picture of the phone in Chris' post)
