Installed it this evening. Allows for pausing, rewinding without a DVR and the add-on guide is much easier to use than the old method of trying to read your guide in remote control mode.

I too installed it a little earlier today on my laptop. I need to install it on my desktop still.

I have not played with it a lot yet but I do like the new program guide.

Hummm, don't like that the quick buttons are gone now. Other than that it's cool but it still can't record for some reason.

Alright, explain to me why I would use a SlingBox.

Just call me clueless....

On a trip, maybe at work to see the game, even at home on your PC while your girl watches So You Thought You Could Dance or something chick like. Maybe on vacation in like Romania or something to stay in touch who knows.

Love the new 2.0!!! New guide is awsome!
MicroBeta - I love the Slingbox because I make a trip to SC and NC ever week for my job. So it very nice to tune to my home receiver and watch local stuff even my recorded shows!!!...

Well I have been using 2.0 for a few days now and I personally think this is a great update.

The new program guide is great.

I made some adjustments to the video quality settings and now my PQ is much better than it was with 1.5.

Now with dual monitor I can use full screen without having a problem. With 1.5 I would put my sling player software on my 2nd screen and any time I would do something on my main screen it would take the sling player software out of full screen mode. Now that is not a problem.

For anyone using just a receiver (non DVR) the pause and RW feature will work great for you. It does me no good because my Slingbox is on a DVR.

The only thing I wish would work correct and I am not sure why it doesn't really is when I am watching a recorded program and FW, when pressing play auto correction does not seem to work. The DVR is doing it but I guess the time it relays to the PC the auto correction did not really do anything.

I had to use the old bin file for IR 00003 and to my surprise it worked. I am likely going to put my H20-600 on it as well (I have the Pro) once I move it into the media closet and all the IR codes will be used, that will be fun. ;)

How do you do this? I want to add my HR21 to my slingbox with one of my HR20's but I need to do this and don't know how to.

Thanks,
Mike

It's been out now for about a week...read the release notes...there are some features not currently activated (including some in the current version).

I am considering getting one of these but I was curious if one can output from their laptop to say a connected projector or even s-video out to a TV

And out of the models which one is the 'best' meaning has all the features?

Sure but the PQ is not going to be good on a large screen like that.

You need the attached file. Change the extension to bin. Put the file in the SBAV directory of the Sling Media. When you sellect a DirecTV DVR, say other and a text box opens. You have to type in S1378 and it will control the HR21-x00 (assuming it uses 00003 IR code). It will let you test it.

There are further instructions and more details on another sight. If you do a search on Slingbox and IR code 00003 you'll get there from DBSTalk. I hope this helps!

What IR code are you using? I've heard you can try S1379 too.

I am trying to use 00003. I will try S1379 and see if that works.

Thanks,

I have also read that 2.0 can do it, but there another download from Sling Media. I'll have to refind the information for you.

I just had to go through this again when I upgraded to Slingplayer 2.0. The process with the S1379 file still works if it is done correctly.
