So I recieved my new HR21-100 today.. and guess what?!!? NO B-Band converters in the box!!! UGH!!! So i connected a b-band converter(from a older h20) to the line 1 going into the new HR21.. well no local HD, national HD yes, local no. So i call D* and after a long wait the tech rep tells me that i need both BBC's to get local HD. Is that correct or is my settings wrong? Thanks for the help

If you have a single line, with a single BBC, and setup the HR21 to use a single tuner (in the sat setup menu), you should get everything. Your only limitation is you can only watch the channel you are recording.
What dish type do you have?

so the tech rep was wrong... well she didnt have all the info... i set up the dish as a 3 lnb rather then 5 slimline.. my bad... all works now.

And by setting it to 3 LNB your going to lose all the Mpeg4 national HD.

The old tivo units had it but you won't find that option in the setup menu on the Directv branded DVRs. The newer units automatically detect a single or dual tuner at startup.
Actually the ability to setup as a single or dual tuner in the software was added with the latest NR for the hr20/21.
