Anybody watch Ari Flieschers news conference. A couple of reporters kept asking him if Pres Bush watched the bombing on the news stations as it happened. Looked like he was getting irritated.
Almost makes me think that they wanted to be able to say that Bush watched the war on THEIR station.

I was thinking the same thing after the last woman really pushed the question.

Imagine the ratings bonanza if you could get them to say your network was the one the President turned to for the latest info!
But, it would be pretty sad that the military could not give better intel than reporters.

Like the "Hollywood Stars"....reporters have an inflated sense of their own importance.

Actually I know a number of people in the military who have told me that CNN footage was a regular paart of briefings in Desert Storm and some other "wars". I would be stunned if that is ALL the President sees but not surprised at all if he does watch it.
i'm sure, but i also think he's probably a tad busy during the day(esp these days) to be tuning into his fav news channel...

Again not 24/7 but as part of it. Sure. After all the President in Independence Day watched Sky News.

In the "Situation Room" at our headquarters armory, the tv is tuned to CNN at all times on a Dish Network dish. Really. :)
I heard a retired general talk about watching CNN as the first Gulf War started. He said they used it to see if the targets they wanted to hit were actually hit. If you think about it, even the military can't get live pictures back faster than the news channels. I'm sure the Iraqis wouldn't let the military set up their own cameras.:)
Karl, haven't you convinced them to switch to DirecTV yet? :)

I would expect all the news channels are monitored pretty much all the time. Never turn down a possible source of intelligence.

They may have them turned to multiple news sources instead of just one.
