Not exactly good news.
This was just reported on CNN and they said they have control of a air base there too. They aren't fighting with the Kurds but the tension is apparent.
Lets hope they can get along.

ANKARA, Turkey - Turkey moved 1,000 soldiers into northern Iraq on Friday to beef up its forces there, a Turkish military official said. Turkey already maintains several thousand soldiers backed by a few dozen tanks in northern Iraq to chase Turkish Kurdish guerrillas. Turkey is also shifting some 5,000 soldiers to the border region, the military official said, speaking on customary condition of anonymity.

Not likely. Being a NATO organization and pushing for EU membership means they will probably behave themselves pretty well. And they have a point when they note us chasing Al Quaeda into Afghanistan when they chase Kurdish attackers into Iraq.
I think it far more important to get Turkey's blood to cool off by getting the Kurds to behave themselves and stop attacking Turkey. If they need to see what insurrection gets them, they need only look at what Arafat has managed in Palestine: nothing.
We need to get them to the bargaining table with Turkey after we get the Iraqis on the track to rebuilding and reforming their goverment and military towards being a future NATO(or whatever takes its place) member. Don't laugh. Some of the former Soviet Bloc nations which are now NATO members would have made people laugh if you said it back in the mid 80s.
