Policy on Dish activating used receivers??

This has probably been asked a million times before but I'll ask again.

What is Dish Networks policy on activating used receivers?

I was thinking I'd buy a used Model 6000 if I found one cheap enough and not loaded with PPV purchases.

I believe they just will charge you for any outstanding PPV on the unit. So, you have to be sure there are no charges left on that reciever.

DISH has no problem activating used receivers, the new owner may have the problem. Any outstanding balances must be paid before the new customer can activate, PPV and non paid subscription bills. Also the old customer must release the receiver from their account.
