HALABJA, Iraq, March 22 (Reuters) - At least one journalist was killed and nine other people injured on Saturday in a car bombing in northern Iraq that Kurdish officials blamed on a militant Islamist group.

PARIS (Reuters) - Media watchdog Reporters Without Borders said on Saturday an Australian journalist working for U.S. network ABC had been killed by a car bomb in northern Iraq.
The blast happened at a checkpoint outside the village of Khurmal, near the Iranian border, it said in a statement.
The media body quoted a photographer who witnessed the attack as saying that it appeared to be aimed at the many journalists who were present at the time. Another journalist was injured, it added.
