Do you feel the US news services have portrayed Iraqi POW's in the same or similar ways that news services from other countries have portrayed the American POWs? This includes television, radio, newspapers, etc.

The issue has been brought up that the way the US has shown Iraqi POWs is no different than the way Iraqi TV, Al-Jazeera, others have shown the American POWs in Iraq.

I've seen pictures on CNN and on the newpaper websites of Iraqi POWs. No audio associated with anything I have heard.

I've seen still captures of the American POWs footage and a clip of one an hour ago stating his name (on CNN). This is reported to be about 6 minutes of video of the 5 POWs and 4 killed soldiers.

I just read an article on fair.org, (Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting).

I think that any short term coverage will inherently be confused and deceptive, even without bias, because of the inherent fog of war and because most events are more complex than can be easily be grasped through the lens of a camera.

For instance, whether you argee with it or not, there is a fairly complex set of theories behind the Shock and Awe bombing campaigns. All Arabs, and many others around the world or going to remember, is that Bagdad is getting blasted. The images of bombs and burning in the cities is a dream come true for people like Bin Ladin.
