My 6000 began acting up with the OTA digital channels. I can receive 3 local digital channels.

WCMH digtial 14 remaps to channel 4 is working perfect.

WSYX digtial 13 should remap to 6 and sometimes does but not always. This weekend when I went to 13 the signal bar showed the signal about 4 different times then looked like it locked up. And I received no picture or sound(just blank screen). When I pressed channel up it went to analog channel 10 as if it deid remap to 6.

WBNS (always worked great and has the strongest signal), is digital 21 remaps to 10. When I do a scan or add dtv it does remap it to 10. Then when I go to digital 10 it changes it to 21. Then it appears to lock-up and then a couple of seconds later I get the box that tells me MY SMART CARD DOES NOT AUTHORIZE THIS CHANNEL. This is and OTA channel. Does this problem have anything to do with multicasting. WBNS is multicasting the NCAA's. BTW, I have had this box a couple of years and the multicasting worked fine last year.

Any suggestions????????

Only time I have seen my 6000 act that way was when the signal was too weak. I had to repeak my rooftop antenna.

I have seen the exact problem you describe on my 6000. It's probably a problem in the software. The only "work around" is to delete all 3 of your analog stations that have digital channels.

I have 8 analog stations and 3 digital stations at the moment. For example channel 003-01 is digital and 003-00 is the analog. I have all the analog and all the digital stations programmed in my 6000s. The digital stations automaped to the analog station number.

I did not do the automatic scan. I went to http://www.antennaweb.org and got the channel numbers for the digital stations and put them in manually.

Talk to your local station engineers, the problem is in their PSIP data stream. I am lucky to live in an area where our engineers talk to us and one of them actually runs a forum at AVS.

Whenever these issues arise, it has always been a faulty PSIP generator on one of their machines.

Why I had to repoint my antenna when I saw what you were describing. Fox DTV here is channel 15 (18 analog). Well they are only using a 2.4kw STA transmitter and it is 20 miles away. Needless to say a weak signal. They have a 1000kw license that hopefully they will use one day.

I was having trouble holding the lock at night. I turned my TV to channel 15 (analog) and I could see a faint analog broadcast. Since they were doing such a weak signal they were being interfered with by the far off analog station. The strength was showing 55-58% but it would drop down to 0-40 every few seconds and cause pixelation and pauses. Repointing the antenna just a tiny bit got the signal up to 60-65% and now it will hold the lock. I can still see a faint interference pattern of the analog station.

I deleted the analog stations and I am now getting the DT stations OK, except 10 keep changing back to 21 and it is having problems with the sub channels. I will be glad when CBS stops mulitcasting the NCAA's.
