I wonder when and if we will be able to get all HD programming and internationals with a single dish.
Thanks

There has been plenty of talk about the future of 95 but nothing official has come down from DirecTV in regards to this.
I have read threads that the channels at 95 will move to 110 or 119 and others that say they will go to 99 or 103. I saw one this morning which stated the channels at 95 won't move until D12 is officially launched but please keep in mind that those are only rumors and speculation.

Is Brazilian programming on 95? I know someone with LOS site issue (trees) for 118.7 with DISH, but I am thinking DirecTV with 95 might work for him here in Georgia.
What kind of dish set up do you get if you go Core+HD+International? A Slimeline (3 or 5) and and the worldconnect dish via a multiswitch?

Financially it would make a lot more sense to put them on 110/119 than over to a ka sat. Lots of those existing international customers already have 3lnb dishes for locals etc, and their current sd receivers are compatible with the ku signals. At worst, they'd be in a 101 locals market and need a 3lnb dish upgrade.
If they moved to 99/103 then D* would have to upgrade all SD recievers on every international customers account to mpeg4 capable, and then also upgrade their dish if they weren't already HD customers. It all depends on how D* wants to manage the long term mpeg4 conversion. International customers would be a small subset to go ahead and force the changeover on, but still expensive in the short term.

If they were to move over to D10/11/12, all of the D & R series receivers should continue to work with a Ka/Ku dish as long as continue to use Mpeg2 compression. Now if they use Mpeg4, thats a different story.

Yes, several different packages.
Check 'em here (http://directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPage.jsp?assetId=2980018&_DARGS=/DTVAPP/layout/component/topNavSections.jsp.39_A&_DAV=-1&_dynSessConf=6850879425621392309)

The 95 has a little higher elevation then 101 [ about 2 degrees ] so LOS is much easier then the Anik bird.

Yup. 4 lines from Ka/Ku then 1 line into flexport from worldirect.

The 95 has a little higher elevation then 101 [ about 2 degrees ] so LOS is much easier then the Anik bird. That depends on your location. If you are on the west coast, 95 is going to have a lower elevation than 101.
