Stargate SG-1 Finale .... and Battlestar Galactica

Sooooo. What did everyone think about the Stargate SG-1 finale. I thought it was great. Lots of action, some Joss Whedon-esque plot twists and the announcement that Michael Franks will be back next season. Jonas was OK as replacement, but pales to the original character.

Good News.... we only have to wait til' June for the next season to start.

Bad News... we have to wait until December for the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. (OK, anyone else hear the scanning redeye sound and get a chill? OK, except for those who thought it was a KnightRider reunion (they used the same sound effect)). As an oldschooler who recently taped the shows when they had their recent marathon on SciFi, I've been chomping at the bit for this. It was a show that ended before its time. I won't even talk about Galactica 1980 though. Ugh. Universal did the same thing with Buck Rogers. Took a format that worked and tried to revamp it to something else that didn't fit.

BTW, for those that don't getthe connection.....

SciFi had a teaser promo for Battlestar Galactica during the show. All you heard was the sound that the redeye makes as it pans back and forth, until the picture pulls back and you see that it is a Cylon head. Followed by a graphic that stated : Battlestar Galactica: A Miniseries Event: Coming in December

I really liked Full Circle, but the Jonas charecter has grown on me. (I too saved the First episode of battlestar on my 501, but cleared for the room:)

I liked it, but it seemed very rushed. This could have been stretched into 2 episodes.

Jonas was okay but there never was a replacement for the Jack/Daniel dynamic.


I never got into Battlestar too much when it was on, but I'm happy for the fans and it certainly makes a whole lot more sense than Tremors and Scare Tactics. I still wish Sci-Fi had picked up Firefly.

I'm actually glad that they didn't go the cliffhanger route. I don't mind waiting a week to resolve a story, but waiting 3 months is another story...........

I really enjoyed this episode. Of course, the question is will SG-1 end up being a 5 person team? I imagine that Daniel is going to get kicked out of the ascension realm (or whatever) for what he tried to do.

I had also suspected that something like that was up with Anubis...I wonder if all of next season is going to be "The Search for the Lost City...", winding down to the "Big Ending Battle to Save the Universe"...

Favorite episode of the season, though for me, was the one written by Chris Judge that was on 3 weeks ago.
