View Full Version : telemarketers
Just got a call from a telemarketer offering the Dish showtime package fro only $11.99 per month. When I pointed out that this is the regular price, she said, no this includes the Movie Channel and Flix and Sundance too.
Does E* ever run sales on its pay channels????

Yes, we marketers assume the consumer is a blubbering idiot!

I got even a better offer a couple of months ago from a DISH telemarketer claiming I could add STARZ for only $8 a month (I have HBO/CINEMAX). She promised me that rate would not change as long as I kept HBO. She said that I'd be paying like .30 a day for it for many channels of STATZ.
Since I never had the channel, I thought I would give it a try at this special rate. Only later did I find out there was nothing special about it. That was the REGULAR rate for a third preimum channel.
Then after the recent rate change, my STARZ package went up to 11.99. I called the CSR and told them I was suppose to get it for only $8 like the DISH telemarketer promised. They claim they could no longer give that rate because of the "special" I was now getting with the HBO/CINEMAX package. I said that she lied to me because I still have HBO and now STARZ is almost $4 more a month.
I had them drop STARZ and told them to drop any downgrade fee they were going to charge me (which they did). I don't know why I listened to this DISH marketer since I won't listen to any others that may call me. I just learned another lesson and I won't listening to any more "special" offers from any one else who may be calling me.

Similar story, got a call two weeks ago asking if we wanted to add HBO and Cinemax to AT150. The guy said it would only be an extra $17 not the normal $22 and that it was a' special promotion'. I guess he was never informed about the Dish Value Packages.
