A lot of times if there is a problem with the sat delivered locals the problem is also seen OTA.

No picture or sound on Wood TV 8 (NBC HD) local. At least all this week and possibly last since recording of Heroes from last week was totally blank and no sound.

over the last two weeks, we have had 3 blank recordings on wood tv hd. Once on heroes and twice on biggest loser. These occured on two different hr20-700s. Twice we were able to recover the recording by resetting the receiver, The last one on yesterdays biggest loser was not recovered even after multiple resets.

Any thoughts?

My local WoodTV 8 NBC HD channel is now working. Not sure when it starting working again, but was ok as of last night during Chuck. Scared to change Heroes recording over to the HD.

Seems like the SD locals have been having a lot of dropouts lately. I notice it on channel 15 and when I was at a friends the other day channels 17 and 3 were doing it.

I posted several weeks ago about problems recording hd on channel 8 wood tv on our HR20-700. Well, were still having problems - tried recording law and order the other night - went to watch it and it was still blank - tried resetting multiple times, but no go. deleted the program and moved on. sd is fine on woodtv as are all the other HD channels that we have recorded, both local and other channels.

any thoughts from anyone?

Having the same problem. Had to switch all SeriesLinks to the OTA channel (8-1). Works fine when recorded off of 8-1. I might as well not have the WOOD HD local from DirecTV.

In the Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo area NBC(8) and ABC(41) are owned by the same company and at times the news and weather is channel 8. No problem there BUT since Monday 29th channel 41 HD feed from Direct TV has been a frozing picture of the 5 day weather. Program info will change, sound follows programing listed. I told my wife it was 41 till I looked at it more. The over the air HD feed is fine, the Direct TV SD feed is fine. BUT the HD feed as of this morning still has the frozing 5 day forcast. My wife wants to WATCH Good Morning America on 41, NOW I can't get her to go to 13(our 2nd ABC) or push the remote channel up button once for over the air 41-1. I did call Direct TV last night and a techincal report was made out. Just plainly odd they would let tjis problem go so long.:nono2:

Called DirecTV and the tech said they know about the issue and it is software related. She said the engineers are working on it for the past couple of days now.

I haven't seen anything posted on AVS about it. Do you have snow on the dish? We got over 3 inches overnight and I brushed a couple off my dish before I went to work. I don't watch TV in the morning so no idea if the channels came in or not.

That's possible, but I'm not at home to check. The strange thing is fox was comming in fine but I had a blank screen with nbc and abc but they finally came in:confused:

Had another problem with ABC HD this weekend. Watched half of Heroes from two weeks ago, then came back to it a couple of days later and no sound. Plus, went to watch the Colts game after about an hour into the recording and again no sound. I call DTV and they said they would escalate, but they did that LAST TIME and no fix. Had issues with the live ABC HD and CBS HD with no picture/sound or just no sound.
