Other thread got me thinking, so where do you have your AM21, on top or under your HR21?

On top. Doesn't affect heat dissipation of the HR-21 that much, nor do I think it affects the AM-21 too terribly.

Lots of on top people I see.

I am surprised, I would think it would look nicer on the bottom, but maybe not...will have to see when mine comes.

I think you'll see lots of people with it on top because you the normal scenario is you get your HR21, set it up and then get the AM21 a couple days or more later and then connect that up. Naturally the easiest way to do that is to place the AM21 on top of the HR21.

I have one on top and one on bottom. No problem either way.

You need to add "thrown out the window" as an option. Since the trickplay features do not work properly on OTA recordings.

1. "thrown out the window" wouldn't make sense the way that poll question is written.
2. Despite the attempt to sound uncontrollably angry, I doubt you actually threw your AM21 out the window.

I agree. I like the look with the AM21 on the bottom much better.

Mine is on bottom - I have to admit I have no idea why, or if I really put any thought into it. Maybe I did, I can't remember that long ago. :)

And what trickplay features?

bottom, using HR21 for ballast.. it's realy light and with where it's placed I was afraid of it getting bumped off the shelf..

On top, where it has been for the last, oh, 8 months or so. No problems with it or the HR21-700 it's connected to.

(no I am not trying to start anything!)You missed the 2 UltimateTV units, which the HR21 operations resemble very closely. I have been pleased with the HR21 so far. The only complaints are of course the OTA recording trickplay issue, Audio sync issues, and I thought I would never say anything was slower than the TiVo for scrolling the guide, but the HR21 is painfully slow.

Forgot neither! Since my HR21 is in a rack and did not want to waste rack space it hangs off the back.

My AM21 sits on top of my HR21, but beneath my HR20. :)

Yeah, it looks pretty cool.

My HR20 is now the only thing not black in my system. I'm thinking of getting an HR22 at best buy just so that everything is black now. :lol:
