MSNBC is actually, IMO, doing the best job in covering the war. Fox is getting out of control, CNN is lifeless. MSNBC is acting like a company that is trying to survive, and it shows. They're outworking the others. I don't understand why they don't have better ratings ... but I just get the feeling if they stick with what they're doing they'll catch on.

Being on the conservative end of things I have never liked watching CNN. To this day they are indeed lifeless. I do not really go with the notion most media is liberal slanting, but in the case of CNN they sure seem it to me, and ditto ABC news with Peter Jennings. CBS is ok, and NBC is the network I watch if I am not watching cable. I do like FOX, and do admit they are more of a flag waving news organization, but they do often give a different perspective than some of the other news organizations. They seem to be gaining an audience daily, and I was very surprised when we visited our families over the holidays how many of them watch FOX news now, especially in the morning.
That leaves MSNBC. I do not know why they can't seem to gain traction either. I often watch them and your assesment of their coverage of the war I think is correct. I'm a person who likes choices and find between FOX and MSNBC I can get a good idea of what is going on. It would really be a shame if MSNBC fails.

I agree on the assessment of MSNBC. I started turning to them during the afghanistan war. I found that if I want news, watch them. Their ability to pull on veteran NBC reporters is a real plus.

I also found it easier to watch all coverage after 9pmCST after all the analysts have gone home. Then the hard news coverage gets richer.

Aaron Brown sometimes seems to be trying to stay awake.

What happened to Ashleigh Banfield? I've seen one report from her, I think from Kentucky. MSNBC was going all out to make her a star.

Fox has been driving me crazy at night. What is up with their commentators? They have been asking the most stupid questions under the sun of the "analysts". I end up flipping between CNN which actually seems to be doing a good job just reporting the facts and MSNBC which at least has intelligent commentators.

I think Fox's problem is that they do not have a normal set of night commentators and these are clearly second string. Normally they have a prime time line up that then repeats for a second time.

I am a Fox fan, but I agree with other people that MSNBC has the best coverage. Their hosts seem a little bit more professional as well. Some of the Fox people have the hardest time talking

I watch some MSNBC - Lester Holt does a good solid job but, I'm a FOXite mainly because of their BOMBSHELL newsbabe, Laurie Dhue.

Then again MSNBC does have the O'Donnell sisters, Norah and Kelly.
