It's not a 'new' channel, it's the former Discovery Civilization Channel.

The programming is more geared toward current events and events of the past few years, rather then documentaries on Ancient Rome and so on.

I suppose the History Channel is enough for past history content, this gives us a more modern history channel and something a little different that the History Channel.

Yeah, they should call it The 'Recent' History Channel. I've already learned a lot about Saddam Hussein, unfortunately.

Don't forget History International as well. It has much programming about ancient history. It and Discovery Civilization seemed almost identical in programming.

I actually like the new theme of this channel. I have watched shows on Ruby Ridge and right now it is about Ariel Sharon and Yasser Arafat. Pretty Interesting.
