Not sure what is going on. I was getting all the East HD channels on Wed and Fri night. They were all off Thur and Sat just NBC. They are greyed out in the guide so not supposed to be getting them.

ok now they are messing with the channel mapping. On my Reciever 80 is showing the Jewelry channel with no sound.

WNBC-HD just disappeared after two mins into their newscast here in the Los Angeles DMA. The other NYs are off already. I really don't think it is a fluke, it probably has to do with sports and will probably happen a lot during the weekends this fall.

I can report that the Tulsa ABC affiliate was out during prime time and there was a slide instructing you which of the DNS stations you could turn to for the network feed. I think the NBC affiliate had problems, too, as when I checked after 10 PM CT, they both had a "no need to call us" slide up.

new to the board and I don't know what is going on but NBC 82 was on, turned at when America's Got Talent was on and then right as WNBC news came on it was shut off.

Can somebody please tell me what is going on? It is now back on as soon as Jay Leno came on the picture came back up, I wish they could show WNBC news as I have friends/relatives up in NY/NYC, but I'll take it anyway.

The NBC Affiliate in the Flint, MI market has been down since Friday with a transmitter failure. There is a slide up on D* telling customers they can tune to 82 for NBC programming.

I was getting WNBC-TV here in Albuquerque, NM!! I just wish they would keep the feed open for local NY news and I love watching out of town local news!!:)

no it only seems to be on when NBC networking programing is on prime-time late night etc

I believe that D* gets permission to occasionally turn on channels when local channels are having problems with getting their broadcasts to D*. When D* turns these channels on, they are available nationally instead of just for the areas affected by any outage. A lot of DNS channels were turned on over the weekend and in the last few days. Most likely this is due to broadcast problems resulting from Ike. Some channels were having trouble getting their feeds to D* and others preempted national programming for days to show emergency coverage.
