I just pulled up my account on www.directv.com and noticed that my Fox LA/NY went from $1.17 to $2.00 per month:

03/27/2003 xxxxxxxx0001 Additional Receiver - Charge $4.99 $0.00 $4.99

03/27/2003 xxxxxxxx8998 Additional Receiver - Charge $4.99 $0.00 $4.99

03/27/2003 xxxxxxxx9004 Additional Receiver - Charge $4.99 $0.00 $4.99

03/27/2003 xxxxxxxx8808 UltimateTV - Charge $9.95 $0.00 $9.95

03/27/2003 xxxxxxxx8808 Network: FOX from NYC/LA_* - Charge $2.00 $0.00 $2.00

03/27/2003 xxxxxxxx8808 TOTAL CHOICE PLUS with Locals - Charge $39.99 $0.00 $39.99

Total $66.91

Did I miss a press release or something? I'm not going to b***h too much about $.83 per month, but I didn't know it was coming.

Anyone else have their distance nets go up?

It was announced a couple of months ago, at the same time as the main package price increases. There wasn't much discussion since so few get them, and the ones who do get them (like you and me) apparently don't mind the increase too much.

Eight channels of time-shifted network TV is a good thing to have. Being charged an extra $3.32 to keep getting them doesn't bother me, and they're still cheaper than Dish Network :)

I would pay 5 dollars to keep them, I love by distants! They are the main advantage that D* had over my local cable co. I get a backup channel for when the affiliates go into local premptions and a 3 hour behind channel for time shifting. ITs great. If only CBS would give in and give me my waiver.
