Adding second hard drive

I bought a second external hard drive and a USB switch for my 722.
To install it do I have to call Dish like I did for the first hard drive install?
What is the procedure? Do I disconnect the first HD, and plug in the new HD to format it?

Yes. Just plug it in and go.

To answer your first question:
No, you don't have to call Dish - Once your activated it works on all drives, but only one at a time currently (might change later).
