When a reporter asked him after the speech if he wanted U.S.-led forces to win the war, he did not say "yes." Instead, he refused to answer, admonished reporters for not listening carefully and referred them to earlier remarks.

Villepin's speech made no clear statement about which side he wanted to win. The Foreign Ministry on Friday said he was referring to statements he had made in the past, including the one on March 24.

If that is not a typical politician answer, I've never heard one.

The French are just hanging around until Iraq has been rebuilt. They want to reap the benefits w/o putting anything out (war or money)

They can't suck enough!

Actually it's just more proof that this wasn't about oil for Bush as all the America-haters have been spouting since he took office, but about oil for France, which has been caught standing at the end of the music without a chair, and when the Iraqis who've suffered under Saddam realize who was propping him up to the bitter end in order to keep their cheap oil flow, they ain't gonna be too eager to keep the contracts intact.
