Hoping for Mobile/Pensacola.

didn't see any trace of HD.

Now I was told that the projected date for us is 9/17. The exact wording used was 'tentative date is 9/17.'

I'm with you Zyeox! I am a little more then worried that Toledo isn't on the roll-out list on D*'s website. Hopefully an oversight.

I have seen numerous posts on here and other sites that show that Toledo will be included in the rollouts this month. I also called a csr and she said it is sometime in Sept. so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Got home last night and was watching channel 3 WEAR. They are now broadcasting in HD...so hopefully DTV will flip the switch soon...

I switched to my antenna to see what it looked like, wasn't that impressed with their local news broadcast in HD. Some stories were in SD and had HD bars on both sides. I guess they still need to upgrade their field cameras yet...

WEAR started broadcasting in HD on Monday. Contrast is slightly washed, but otherwise looks pretty good. Will probably be awhile before they upgrade the field cameras, but there are 4:3 HD cameras for field use. Not as bulky/heavy as the 16:9 and use less storage/bandwidth so are more practical in certain circumstances. We should have HD from D* within 2 weeks.

As discussed elsewhere, Thursday this week is the anniversary of 9/11... most companies in the USA are still exercising a kind of "nothing major should happen" on the anniversary of this event. The consensus seems to be that our next expectations are for next week. It could be wrong consensus, but there hasn't been even a mention of anything new for Thursday and even Satelliteracer has been quiet...

I am aware of the October prediction but we were also predicted to go live in December 2006 :( therefore, along with many other DMA's, we are skeptical until we actually see them live on our sets.

October: Colorado Springs-Pueblo, Colo.

I'll believe D* until October 31st, but I'm not stressed about it one way or another. My OTA is working beautifully on both the HR20 and the HR21 with AM21, and I get PBS in HD so it's all good.

With D*, it's becoming a case of "I'll believe it when I see it."

Great, not looking forward to watching the Sprint Cup race in sd on D*, the ghosting is terrible and being grouped with South Bend/Elkhart but being in southwest MI I can't get any ABC channel ota, was really hoping they would get it in gear.:nono2: I shouldn't be surprised, but you know it looks bad when the wife says that looks awful is there something wrong with the TV?:(

You are correct and I am skeptical as well. Now that the competition in this area(Cox Communications and Dish Network) both have HD locals for this market and carriage agreements are in place with the four major networks(two owned by Lin Co.), maybe Directv will actually stay on schedule with the October date. 17 of the 25 homes in my neighborhood that have Directv have said that they would switch to the competition if HD locals are not on by November. I will think about doing the same if my access to NYC HD locals is taken away.

Sixteen weeks left to add 32 markets. This pace may just get them there, but it is going to be tight.

You may want to try contacting your local tv stations. Either give them a call or hit their web page and see if they have a email contact listed. In some cases, local stations have been willing to share information.

Back when stations were first powering up their HD signals, they were eager to hear from people about any signal problems, audio syncing issues, etc.

The October 8th date was from someone who contacted the local stations (ABC and FOX are operated by the same people). I was trying to get some confirmation from the other side of the fence.
