Some media reports have indicated that SBC Communications has lost interest, but that Cablevision in New York might submit a bid.

And they are wanting to launch a satellite service at the end of the year so that would be 2 of 3 if they would get part of DirecTv. Hmmm, buying DirecTv and launching their own service? Would this not be a monopoly just like the Echostar/Hughes merger?
