From the architect who designed, apparently, one of his bunkers.

This is scary.

I read on one "news crawl" last night that a designer of bunkers like Sodom's (not sure if it was the same guy from the above article or not) says that the only way to destroy a bunker like that is to drop an atomic bomb on it.

Oy.

I hope it doesn't come to that.

Yeah I bet the military just laughed when they read that article as they dropped 25 bombs plus a couple of bunker busters on it. Yeah it could probably withstand a single bomb hitting it, but I bet with enough regular bombs hitting it one after the other they would get through. Some of these bombs are as powerful as a tactical nuke plus they are shaped charges to force the force of the bomb directly towards the bunker.

Precision guided bunker busters could burrow a VERY deep hole in the ground if they keep hitting the same spot over and over. This is what causes some of those mushroom looking clouds you see in Baghdad when the bombs hit. Big bomb going boom at the bottom of a deep hole in the ground makes all the crap shoot straight up in the air. If they know where his bunker is then I'm sure it has a hole in the roof by now. ;)

Hey, at the very least he'll be deaf if not dead.

I STILL haven't seen any proof that we didn't already get him. You would have to think that he would at least hold up a newspaper with a current date or parade some POWs for the propaganda alone.

He had a speech scheduled for 12:00 noon ET today. The speech was given by his "vice president" and Sadam didn't show. I am beginning to lean toward the "he is at room temperature" side on this one. He could also be seriously injured somewhere, hoping that he hasn't killed any relatives of the attending doctors or nurses.

He's most likely dead..

I agree... someone that arrogant wouldn't avoid the media at any cost.... unless he's scattered across the desert in itty bitty bits, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Thread Title: Why its not easy to kill Saddam.

Because he's already DEAD!

Looks like we have the Iraqi version of "Dave" going down. Can you imagine being a Saddam 'lookalike' these days?
