Per CNBC Jeraldo Rivera of Fox News has been kicked out of Iraq by our troops for passing on sensitive information. I mentioned this in the Arnett thread, but maybe Fox deserves their own thread for hiring the idiot in the first place. I love it, Arnett fired, Rivera kicked out of country. :D

If only they could have accidentally called in an airstrike on him. All would be forgiven... ;)

Well just saw him on Fox News and he said that MSNBC was not correct and anything they said was a Pack of lies (as he was reporting from the 101st Airborne).

Well, It seems that CNBC has lied about Geraldo getting kicked out of Iraq. He was just on and really ripped into msnbc and cnbc. He is still with the troops. And CNN ran with the story also. Pretty sad that they have to make this stuff up

What is more sad is that MSNBC runs with this to try to deflect the Peter Arnett mess. I would love to see who started this story.
It now looks like CNN started the story . I guess if you can't beat them in the ratings you lie?
Arnett and Rivera have always had their own agendas and made little effort to hide that fact. Their respective network sponsors should have known this going in. I'm sure the nets already had those "we have severed all ties" statements ready to roll long before Mssrs. Arnett and Rivera boarded their planes for Iraq.
For Geraldo, it's just a matter of time...

I've never seen any evidence that Geraldo is anti-American. He's shown nothing but support for the troops. But what Peter Arnett did was wrong. And NBC knows it .

Rumors arent true as I can see, I just saw Geraldo Live about 10 minutes ago with the 101st in Iraq(Bout 60 miles from Baghdad) and said he just heard the rumors and they arent true, he was moved but to a different unit.
Apparently he is attributing it to a vast conspiracy to discredit him by MSNBC and CNN. Call me cynical, but this sounds like a story that Geraldo would plant himself. He is threatening to sue MSNBC for 30 million dollars and is "calling out" Jeff Greenfield. Tough guy that Geraldo, pick on the guy in glasses.

I think they just moved him to another unit and not out of Iraq alltogether.
I have fox on now.

Looks like its done.... He will leave Iraq rather than be expelled.
When an "em-bedded" journalist is kick out by the military, does that mean that he is "de-bunked"? :)

It's funny though, I saw him on Fox this morning at about 6:45 or so. He was still embedded with the same troops and discussed the controversy for a couple of seconds. I about fell over when he said "I don't want to talk about me".

I just hope they replace him when he's gone. I don't care one way or the other about Geraldo but watching the ebeded reporters on live TV with our troops is amazing. I like when they give time for them to say hi to their loved ones. Arnett is an idiot. He is now in his element working for a tabloid.

"Last weekend, after my reports from Iraq with the men and women of the 101st Airborne, I was told I violated one of the rules set up by the Pentagon (news - web sites) for reporters embedded with the military," Rivera said in an interview Sunday on Fox. "My network and I decided it would be best to voluntarily withdraw to Kuwait to review the situation."
